Across the Fallen Landscape is a new body of work developed for a solo exhibition with the Tioga Arts Council in Fall 2026. This series marks a pivotal moment in my practice. This is an expansion in scale, depth, and emotional range. Drawing from a lifetime of landscapes in New York State.

My past work rarely exceeded 30 inches. For this exhibition, the smallest dimension will be 36 inches, expanding into a more immersive environment where color, form, and texture can fully breathe.

The opening trio of works will trace a journey through time and place. A search through the remembered and imagined geographies that shaped me. After this, I follow wherever the art leads.

I will work on multiple paintings simultaneously, allowing the series to remain cohesive, intuitive, and emotionally alive. This approach prevents overworking and deepens the shared visual language across all pieces.

Because my process requires aggressive textural tools, I stretch canvas over plywood panels before mounting the final work to stretcher bars. This allows for a sculptural surface that responds to energy, gesture, and pressure.

The community will be invited to experience the evolution of this work through open studio nights during Owego’s monthly Friday Gallery events.
