ABOUT THE ARTIST

For over 30 years, I have lived within and worked alongside the creative community of New York and Pennsylvania. I spent my time curating, exhibiting, supporting artists, and advocating for rural creativity.

I have been:

  • Co-founder of Gallery 41 in Owego, NY

  • Assistant to gallerist Betty Bryden at Butternut Gallery in Montrose, PA

  • Managing Executive Director of Pink Arrow Arts, Inc.

  • Curator for solo and group exhibitions

  • Designer and installer for gallery shows across the region

  • A participating artist in numerous juried and group exhibitions

Only now, after decades on both sides of the art experience, am I stepping into the role of solo exhibiting artist.

I work from my studio within the Tioga Arts Council, whose support has been instrumental in this new season of depth, scale, and vision.

Experience & Public Components

Over the last 25 years, I have been on both side of the visual art experience in New York and Pennsylvania. I have worked and exhibited in several art galleries. I was co-founder of Gallery 41 In Owego, NY, an assistant to gallerist Betty Bryden at the Butternut Gallery in Montrose, PA, and as managing executive director of Pink Arrow Arts, Inc. These experiences included finding participating artists, curating work for solo and group exhibits, and personally designing and hanging those exhibits. I have been a participating artist in juried and group exhibits in all these places, but not yet as the solo artist.

In addition to the month-long exhibition be open to the public during the Fall of the 2026 grant cycle, I will open my studio during monthly Friday gallery night events in Owego. This allows the public to watch the series of paintings evolve. Although the goal at this point in my career is to achieve a greater technical skill, it also includes the desire to convey the inclusive nature of creative participation for all the community. This is regardless of age or perceived ability. Authenticity is not about skill. Authenticity is about being able to fully express where you are in your journey.

Process

I am a firm believer in the power of experimentation and play in the artistic process. I often incorporate unconventional materials and techniques into my work, which allows me to explore new ideas and push the boundaries of my craft.
